I realized a few months ago that my kids would eat nothing but junk food; the closest "real" foods they consumed were pop-tarts and cheap chicken nuggets.
It was obvious where they were picking this up, so I've been trying to set better habits for all of us.

Watching my children exhibit horrible behavior opened my eyes to my own habits and what lessons I am teaching the kids about living.
I decided quickly that things needed to change-- significantly.

Batten Down the Hatches

Getting ready to head for bed after a baking marathon! Sorry there haven't been any posts, it's been a heck of a week and not about to slow down.

I do have to say, we ate at Panera tonight and discovered the bread was flavorless, the vegetables pathetic and watery, and the french onion soup seemed so spicy to us we both got runny noses! Also, drinking a Dr. Pepper made Akalee violently ill for a short while from the overwhelming sweetness. We were saddened yet ecstatic at the same time.

I've changed the comment system, so blogger brings up a window in which to make your comment. Supposedly, that's going to help with any signin issues! Please let me know if it works. (_ _)

Glad to hear you're prepared for the whale... ;)
Interesting to hear how quickly your taste adapted!

And, obviously, yay for being able to comment as myself.

YAY! I'm glad it worked. I don't like this nearly as much, but at least it doesn't default to those horrid orange and blue layouts like it used to.

It does make it easier for people to get follow-up emails, though.

Yeah, it's crazy how quickly everything totally changed. It's going to make taking trips extremely difficult, though!

I have to say that Panera has definitely gone down hill but I still love their souffle's. My sister found the recipe and I want to give it a go.

I like their souffle OK, but they seem a bit dry. I am not experienced in the way of souffle, so I'm not sure if it's Panera or they're all like that.
